Technical expertise
Shaping standards: Active participation in Technical Spring Committees.
Our long-standing involvement in national, European, and international standardization committees for technical springs actively contributes to quality, safety, and innovation across industries.
Why Standardization in Spring Technology Matters
As experts in various national and international standardization committees, we make a significant contribution to ensuring that technical springs:
- maintain consistently high quality
- are compatible worldwide
- drive technological advancement
International Involvement:
ISO/TC 227 “Springs”
For many years, we have contributed to the work of the international technical committee ISO/TC 227 “Springs”. Key contributions include:
Project leadership in:
- ISO 22705-1 Springs - Measurement and test parameters - Part 1: Cold formed cylindrical helical compression springs
Contributions to:
- ISO 22705-2 Springs - Measurement and test parameters - Part 2: Cold formed cylindrical helical extension springs
- ISO 22705-3 Springs - Measurement and test parameters - Part 3: Cold formed cylindrical helical torsion springs
- ISO 16249 Springs – Symbols
Regular participation in international ISO meetings as expert or head of delegation.
European Standardization:
CEN/TC 407 “Technical Springs”
As experts in the European committee CEN/TC 407, we have contributed to the harmonization of spring standards, including:
- EN ISO 22705-1 Springs - Measurement and test parameters - Part 1: Cold formed cylindrical helical compression springs
- EN ISO 22705-2 Springs - Measurement and test parameters - Part 2: Cold formed cylindrical helical extension springs
- EN ISO 22705-3 Springs - Measurement and test parameters - Part 3: Cold formed cylindrical helical torsion springs
- DIN EN 13906-1 Cylindrical helical springs made from round wire and bar - Calculation and design - Part 1: Compression springs
National Level:
DIN Committee NA 026-00-01 AA “Springs“
At the national level, we are involved in several standardization activities within DIN, including:
Reviewing and updating standards such as:
- DIN 2099-3 Helical springs made of round wire and rod - Part 3: Information to be given in order to obtain the hot formed compression spring required
- DIN 2194 Helical springs made of round wire and rod - Cold coiled torsional springs (leg springs) - Quality specifications
- DIN 2097 Helical springs made of round wire; specification for cold coild tension springs
Longstanding collaboration with VDFI (Association of the German Spring Industry):
- Head of the working group "Measurement and Testing of Springs". This resulted in VDFI Guideline 6001 (Parts 1–3), which in turn formed the basis for DIN 2191-1 Springs – Measurement and Test Parameters, and later served as the foundation for ISO 22705-1.
- Working Group on Quality
- Working Group on Patents
- Long-term board member of the VDFI
Research and Development
Beyond standardization, we regularly contribute to industry-related research projects, including:
- IGF 22902 End grinding of springs
- IGF 19693 BR Fatigue diagrams
- IGF 21607 BR Pre-setting of springs
- IGF 20846 Crack detection
- IGF 21490 Geometric changes under load
- IGF 18992 Creep and relaxation behavior of spring steel wires
- Further information on "Industrielle Gemeinschaftsforschung (IGF)".
From ISO to CEN and DIN: Our active involvement in shaping standards and guidelines for technical springs reflects our identity as a "factory for precision springs". Through our work, we help to further develop both national and international standards in a way that is practical and application-oriented.
